Established in 2014 in Lima, Peru, ITASCA Peru S.A.C. (IPSAC)
provides applied geomechanics and hydrogeology services to clients from
the mining industry and project engineering firms. The office staff
cover a variety of skills ranging from field work to practical
application of numerical modeling tools for geomechanics and
hydrogeological consulting services. Itasca Peru S.A.C. performs work in
the following areas: static and dynamic stability of mining and civil
slopes, geomechanical and hydrogeological characterization of rock
masses, hydrogeological studies at conceptual and numerical levels,
hydrogeological instrumentation designs and installation supervision,
etc.
The General Manager of ITASCA Peru is Martin Brown, a Civil Engineer with 20 years of experience in water and environmental management for mining projects and operations in various countries. He has led development and operational teams in hydrogeology, water resources, environmental management, fluid transportation, tailings storage facilities, and mine dewatering.
Luis Cañabi is the Deputy Manager of Geomechanics at ITASCA Peru. A Civil Engineer with an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering and a diploma in Caving Engineering, he specializes in rock mechanics, soil dynamics, and numerical modeling applied to slope stability, tailings dams, and waste dump projects. He also serves as the company’s legal representative in Lima.
Fredy Elorrieta is the Deputy Commercial Manager. A Mining Engineer with an MSc in Geotechnics and training in project management, he has extensive experience in rock mechanics and mine planning, developing designs and stability studies for underground and open-pit mining operations in Peru and across the region.
Julio Salas is the Deputy Manager of Hydrogeology. A Geological Engineer with a specialization in Hydrogeological Engineering and more than 15 years of mining experience, he has led hydrogeological modeling, water balance studies, and water management for open-pit and underground projects, as well as for tailings dams and waste dumps
